Hello, I'm Robert Shafer, but most people call me Bobby. I was born in the beautiful city of Anchorage, Alaska, and spent my formative years split between Alaska and Arizona. Family is of utmost importance to me, and I'm blessed with a loving partner, Erin, who brings immense joy to my life. Together, we have a wonderful son, Tristan, who is currently pursuing his sophomore year in college. Additionally, I have two amazing step-daughters who graduated from college at the young ages of 20 and 21.
Professionally, I have accumulated over two decades of valuable experience in the Defense Contracting industry. My areas of expertise include Export Law (ITAR), International Cooperation Programs, Combat Systems, Systems development, Electronic Warfare, and Intel. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, and I pursued my passion for continuous learning by obtaining a Master's in Business Administration and becoming a certified CMMI Auditor.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of serving as Director of International Sales & Export Compliance in various esteemed organizations. As an Independent Consultant, I've had the opportunity to provide valuable insights to different businesses, sharing my knowledge and expertise to foster growth and success.
One of my greatest passions is travel, and I've been fortunate enough to explore a substantial portion of our beautiful planet. However, my wanderlust still yearns for the untouched beauty of South America and Antarctica. When I'm not globe-trotting, you can often find me embarking on solo motorcycle trips, having earned the prestigious Iron Butt Association membership. Besides adventure, I find solace in the great outdoors, indulging in hobbies like hunting, fishing, hiking, and shooting.
In both my personal and professional life, I am dedicated to improving efficiency. I'm always on the lookout for ways to streamline processes, using templates and automation to minimize mistakes and expedite actions. This commitment to efficiency ensures that I can make the most of every opportunity and focus on achieving the best possible outcomes.
